I metal-detected as a casual hobby in the States and would like to here in Panama. I understand there are strict laws that I need to follow and will respect them all.
Is there anyone here who practices the hobby and is looking for a metal detecting friend? Are there any metal detecting stores in Panama City?
I can't help you with the details. But one of my close friends (he's a Panamanian Zonian) is very much into it. He doesn't tell me where he goes -- but he hits the jungles among other things. He's a hardcore unit that I think he bought in the USA. I've never seen them for sale here... I would bring your unit if you have one.
Thanks, Matt. Next time you see him I'd appreciate if you could ask him if he's looking for a metal-detecting friend. It would be fun to compare notes and explore with someone.

I bought mine from the US as I wanted one that would work underwater. I would recommend that if you go detecting you do so discreetly as if f
olk believe that your pockets are bulging with pieces of eight and doubloons you may have more of an adventure on your hands than you wanted. If you want to compare notes, etc, give me a shout!
