Anybody familiar with the El Cangrejo area?

Is it a cool place to visit? Safe? Interesting?

I alway's stay in El Cangrejo when in the city. It is very safe with lots of Restaurants, hotels , banks and casinos. It is centrally located with plenty of taxis. The most famous landmark would be the veneto Hotel and Casino. There are a range of hotels ranging from $50 -$200 a night. 15 minutes to amador or the Canal by cab (except rush hour).

My Pleasure. Another tip for restuarants is along Via Argentina. Tons of good choices. If you stay at the Milan Or the Vento there is Pomador(sp) for Italian or Machu Pichu for peruvian food on Calle Esubio Morales. Across the street from the El Rey's supermarket on via Espana is a mall of sorts with lots of stores. It is an awesome place to meet local girls in a casual atmosphere. Get a local prepaid cell phone your first day super cheap and handy to have. Several Places on via veneto just past Monolo's on the left. Happy travels......
