Free Wifi Cafe in Panama City

I just moved into my new aprt, and I am not very optimistic the cable will be up that soon. In the mean time, apart from leeching onto my neighbor's WiFi, are there any "Starbucks" like cafes in Panama City where I can have a cuppa and check my emails? Thanks.

It's a 27 million dollar investment by the government of Panama.

i am in san fransisco also, opposite rey supermarket, and here InternetParaTodos works quite well. Actually i am on it right now. Its a public internet system. It seems to go up and down lol but in general u can check yr mail and surf a bit on it. It works only on my balcony tho lol

For that crepes and waffles u take the right ramp(low one) into ave balbao, and turn right into the street with the Torre Banco General(3rd street or so i think), and then take a left right away, past DHL and then probably another 100 meters or so. Little parkign garage next to it too w free parking. And i think, but not sure, that i also seen free wifi in multiplaze upstairs in that outside area where theres a segafredo and a few restaurants. goodluck!

    Hipee! I am online!
The cable and wireless guy came today and got it up.
I am a quite impressed as we signed the contract only on Moday. (Maybe because we had a Spanish speaking local friend to help us push!)

Janl, we are quite close. I am in that vicinity too. My map sense is still not too good..haha.

Will try the Crepe place this weekend when I have a chance.
Right now, my kids are begging to go to one of those batido places..

Hey great congrats actually they can be shocking here both negatively and positively lol D when i first got here it took me 3 weeks to be up n running despite them promising me within a week. However, i just got a new appartment, so i called them early to plan the move, cause im so smart... they did it within 4 working days, and now my internet has even moved before me haha, thats why im using this annoying InternetParaTodos.

Btw dont know how old your kids are, but if they are young, you should really go check out parque omar! It is also in SF, and is a beautiful large park with many playracks and sportsfields for kids! also InternetParaTodos there

Btw just 100 meters further or so theres also a meat market! havent been there yet, but am gonna check it out cause i dont like the supermartket meat here at all.

I was with a local friend. We were there at 8 and parked at the big open carpark. We walked around the seafood market (bought a bunch of fish), and we proceeded to the meat market too. We went to old Chinatown and picked up some supplies, and the kids got a couple of water guns at ridiculous prices. Amazing place, just be careful of the open gutters and the crazy cars, and hold on to the kids!

How was the meat market? Did it look any good? Im dying to buy some decent ribs and in my supermarket they only have frozen half racks for $20 or so. Last week i found a bbq-specialist and they even charged $30, while in a restaurant i get them for $12.. go figure

Past china town theres also casco viejo, the old panama. I drove tru there once on my first trip, and it really looks amazing. If the streets werent so tiny, without decent parking, i would love to live there.

We walked around the meat market, but didnt buy any. I think the cut selection are quite limited. Pork selection is much better than beef though. When I get more confident (with my Spanish), I will try buying meat there! Abt ribs, did you try Pricesmart? I am going to get my membership soon. I suspect meat in bulk may be cheaper there.
We drove inside Casco Viejo last week (my local friend drove us there). The streets are for horses, not SUVs! I will go back there (walking inside), to take photos, I think that place has so many photo ops.

I actually use the McDonalds WiFi. The best was on Calle 50 in San Francisco, but all are suppose to be connected. I also used New York Bagel Cafe in the cangrejo, on plaza Einstein just off via Argentina. Suppose neither are free since you are obliged to buy something, but combining a snack or coffee (free refills at N.Y. Bagel) with WiFi is a no brainer.
