Is there a listing of wi-fi hotspots in Panama City?

I would expect it to be worse than what they have in Miami Beach, i.e. almost never working, no support and nothing gets fixed. Not sure why governments are unable to recognize their extreme incompetence in just about everything. I would not rely on this for anything - probably it will be quite useful for people wanting to send out spam in bulk and more.

Wow! If a lot of people start using their "free" wifi to download movies, whatever bandwidth they have will soon be tied up. Must be nice. "Free" wifi!

Actually I would like to find a cafe shop type of place around Urraca Park on Balboa.Someplace to read the paper and have the internet available.

I have a place by the park but no internet connection yet.

We were in Casco Viejo last weekend for the Jazz Festival and noticed signs that we were in a free hotspot but when my friend tried to log on from his unlocked Iphone he couldn't figure it out or get on. Maybe you have to register beforehand? I can't remember exactly what the sign said but it seemed as if these signs are throughout the city. Also went to a restaurant (in Colon - so no help to you) but as long as you ordered food you had free internet. EVERYONE in the restaurant was online!

I got myself a Claro usb-stick with internet. Its not superfast, but works EVERYWHERE! I pay about $20 a month i think, but it's really worth it. They have different speeds. Also, when my WiFi at home disappears, luckily not often, i can still check my mail or pages.

I have a Ubiquiti WifiStation Ext that greatly improves the number of wifi hotspots I can find.
