Question Azuero Peninsula Wi Fi Hot Spots

Are there many hot spots where you can use your own laptop? Will the internet cafes allow that?

    Thanks!

    HI Naked,
How is that house going? How far along are you?
Say, is Maudies and Mano Surf in the town of Pedasi or more toward Playa Veneo? Since we are staying at Robertos, how far do we have to go to get our internet up and working? For some reason I thought that it was available in the town.
Let me know, Nakedguy, will you?
    Thanks,
    India

Ok Naked, this is good. We would like to take you and your wife out to dinner when we get down there. Would love to come out and see your place also if you didnt mind. You would probably be done now if you didnt have that motor home to fall back on! Haha! You will be so glad when it is finished. Better not move into it until every little thing is done because we know how "the best laid plans of mice and men" go. it would never get done! Even a good woman would nag you to your death, to finish that one spot that you left. Lol!
Although you had told me before, I had forgotten about Maudys. Thanks for the reminder.

Sports Club also has wifi in the restaurant / bar but if you are not a guest, you have to pay a nominal amount.

India - I guess you are getting pretty excited...less than a week to go right?? Have a great time!

Thanks, Marcomac! Yes, we are on the countdown. Thursday 4am is liftoff. Backpacks are loaded and now it is just the little things left. We have to pack slim due to Nature Air's requirements, out of Costa Rica. That is hard for a girl to do! Just 3 days worth of clothes to last 3 weeks. LOL!
Thanks for the mention of another wifi place. My guess is that it is also in Pedasi?

Yes, Sports Club is on the left just as you get into Pedasi, right across from the police station. Have a great trip and let us know how it goes. I pack light all the time as I am also usually dragging along all my dive gear!

    Hi Marcomac,
We will hit the Sports Club. Thanks for the tip. I am having a difficult time packing my backpack. Your a guy. How easy is that to pack? It is harder for girls and then I have my snorkeling equipt to try and cram in. I dont want to use someone else's so I need to get it in somehow. All we are taking is a backpack apiece. it costs too much on the airlines, if we dont. As we are at the "linear" max, my fins will have to go around my neck with my goggles! Hahaha! I am going to learn to dive down there if I can. If I dont get too scared!

Bobby at the Sports Club has a dive shop and they can get you out diving/snorkeling at Isla Iguana or fishing. When my son and I were there in Sept. we spent an entire dive just off Isla Iguana listening to the humpback whales singing....spectacular!

There are also places in Las Tablas that have WiFi. I noticed it offered at Oceano's for example which is a popular xpat hangout. Good hamburgers also.

Bobby runs a pretty clean shop and he has an instructor on staff that can teach you how to dive as well. They will start you off in the pool so you can decide if diving is for you before you get to the ocean! Have fun!

This is good that Bobby would put me in a pool first. I think what scares me is sharks and the dead quiet below the water. Pollerkeeper suggested that I bring my snorkeling gear with me.

I have been very close to big sharks and really they don't pay much attention. Humans aren't good eating for sharks..too many bones and not enough fat. Once you get under water you will realize it isn't quiet at all...there is always something interesting going on. If you have a mask and snorkel that you like, try and take them...you can rent fins that will work just fine.

Oceano's is the little bar and grill next to the bus terminal in Las Tablas. They look like pretty thick burgers.

I think that is the way I will have to go. Fins stay home. Thanks, Marcomac.

Yes, there are sharks. The ships that transit the canal have been saving their garbage for the couple of days it takes to transit the canal. After they're thru they dump it. Sharks know this. I swam/surfed there for two years and never got bit. Dawn and dust are the most dangerous times in the surf, on a dive keep your head on a swivel. LOL (Lots Of Luck)!!!

I haven't seen any sharks around Isla Iguana but there are some at Isla Frailes. Most of my big shark encounters have been in other places in the world. Don't worry...there are lot's of other non-threatening, colorful fish to look at.

India there is a wash and fold laundry in pedasi 5 minutes from Roberto and Isabella's place. It is adjacent to the gas station, on the left as you come into town. Naked pointed it out to me during my visit. I dropped off my clothes went to dinner and picked them back up two hours later. Washed and folded for about $5. I had allot more than a 3 day supply so it might be cheaper for you. Maudy's is on the left side of the main drag in Pedasi headed toward playa venua, easy to miss because it is small and sits on a corner. Nakedguy is a great contact for this area and can fill you in on lots of other details. Have a safe and wonderful trip!

Hi Fleeted, sounds like a good deal on the laundry. We will definitely be washing clothes. Am just checking packs and papers at this time. I do have Naked's number. I wonder if I call him if he will be naked?
What about it, Naked? Are you on line today?
