    Looking Like A Beach Day

Well it's a sunny Sunday afternoon and the gf is going to be turing 30 this week. Looks like a perfect excuse to call the friends, fill the coolers with 9 bottles of cheap champagne, assorted juices (for mimosas), 2 batches of jello shots, head over to Pedros on Playa Uverito, get some chicken wings, and break out the brand new frisbee. Enjoy your afternoon folks.

Hey Whoohoo, a big kiss to your girl and wish her a happy birthday. Turning 30 I see, look like you and I are on the same boat if you get my drift. Hey enjoy the BBQ

That just turned into a 6 hour party with live music. Now that is what I call a happy birthday, about 20 people showed up, chipped in, and had a great freaking time. That is what Sunday's are for. Thanks for the wishes elvagabond.

That's exactly the life style that I envision for my self. As I told you before, I've been to Panama a few times, fishing in the Pacific from PC to Chiriqui. I plan on relocating there within 2 years if all goes well. My other half is begging me to make the move sooner, but got to wait for her to finish her schooling. I got the feeling that we will cross path eventually. In the mean time, I'm trying to educate my self as best as I can, and this forum is as good as it gets when it comes to (FREE and honest) information.
GLAD YOU HAD A GREAT TIME YESTERDAY-----them 6 hours of party wow.

Re: Looking Like A Beach Day

It really is a nice change to live in the interior, especially the Azuero. People here, for the most part, are concerned about enjoying their lives and being social. The expats that are successful (happy), try to conform to the local mentality. Las Tablas is such a party place that many times I keep a low profile just so nobody is trying to buy me a beer. As long as you put in the effort to being happy this is a great place. The party yesterday wound up being a pretty big success. How can you tell if your party is a success? When one of the guests looses the chicken wings, cheap champagne, and Jello shots right on the deck of the restaurant, Lol. Come on down elvagabond, the lifestyle is great.

Re: Looking Like A Beach Day

I'll probably be there in January for some fishing (God I hope). Long term though, I'm looking at 2012-2013 time frame to make the big move. I don't want to make the same mistake that some other have made by making the move too soon.

Very smart, planning is key to making a successful move here. Learn and plan as much as possible. I spent 7 years researching, visiting, reading, etc prior to making the move.

Exactly what we need. Blizzard conditions here. The high temp today should be in the teens, and low tonigh -10? Oh for the sunshine. Looking forward to our visit next fall/winter, and hopefully the move 2012-2013. Happy BD

Well, up here in beautiful Calgary, Canada we have had over a week of -20 C but today it was -28 C (-19 F) with a wind chill of -41 C which is -41 F. Oh ya...forgot to mention the 12" of snow. I can hardly wait to get back to Pedasi!!

I have been to Edmonton in the end of November once (only once). That is some cold friggin weather. I guess they built that huge mall to give people something to do. It's amazing to see how many Canadians have moved down to this area. You folks are in good company here.

Here are a couple of my girlfriend's 30th birthday party pics on Uverito. Panamanians, Colombians, Canadians, and US citizens all finding a common bond in cheap champagne and chicken wings.

Sounds great. Btw, if you haven't tried it, champagne and chicken wings is a really really good combination.
