Question for anyone who has attended the drivers course here in Panama.

I am in the drivers class now. Have received all class materials in Spanish etc. Looks like I will pass the course but not the test at this point. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a test written in "english"? The tests are administered at the Officino de Transito after the course is finished. Before I enrolled in the course I asked if I would have a problem with the course due to language issues and was told no. I should have asked many more questions obviously.

If you memorize all the questions in the course material you will not have any problems at Sertracen.

I am actually translating the questions and answers into english. But, I think the test will be in Spanish so it may not help me to do it this way. In English, the questions and answers seem very easy. I do understand quite a few of the questions in Spanish though as well, just not good enough. I have to take part of the blame for this difficulty as my wallet was picked and I lost my Stateside license. It was a commercial drivers license with a motor cycle endorsement and Florida says on its website that it will not replace it by mail for several reasons.

Oh, the list of question I was given is 11 pages long, single spaced typing and has 200 questions. It has been quite a job translating it to say the least.

So you improve your Spanish and you get a driver's license!

Back when I was stationed in Panama, your situation was something that could have been solved with a $20 bill and a bottle of Seco! That was just over 11 years ago, but it may not hurt to give it a try.

I'm looking into it, believe me. I didn't want to mention it cause it hasn't happened yet.
