    What's on 8th Dec?

8th Dec is a holiday in Panama. What holiday is it?
Is there going to be some sort of celebration/parade in Panama City?
    Thank you.

If I'm not mistaken, 8 Dec is Mother's Day (Dia de las Madres) in Panama. I don't believe there are any parades in honor of the day....just another day the government is closed!

December 8th is a Catholic "holy day" in honor of the Immaculate Conception of Mary [which refers to her having been born without sin]. It would be fitting to celebrate it as Mother's Day to get away from the notion of a religious day...but I don't know the custom in Panama.
