New to site and help needed!!!!!

    Hi there,
I'm new to the site and really need some advice. I'm just going to list some questions that have come up in conversations between myself and my fiancée.
    1) My fiancé is a American national and looking to take early retirement, Panama has everything for both of us.
    2) I am a British national and have a while before retirement, but I have no objections to working in Panama. I am a qualified photographer and video photographer, educated to Masters level. However I can turn my hand to most, currently I am a call centre team manager.
    3) We are planning to get married. Are there any special requirements regarding citizenship for either of us? Are there any citizenship advantages to being married before moving to Panama?
    4) There appears to be a diverse amount of housing in Panama, we have been looking at everything from ready built to cabanas! Question on the cabanas, can you make them a main residential home or is there some locals laws that prevent that? Also, does anyone have any experience with prefab housing?
I would be grateful for any help you can give us. Basically, we need to know what to do!
    Sincerely:
    Phil

If you meet the RIGHT PEOPLE, you can definitely get a gig as a "call center manager". There's always a need for high performance call center managers in Panama and they're often foreigners. Panamanian companies have specific requirements to hire a certain % of Panamanians but they can hire a small percentage of foreigners (especially for higher level jobs where there's very few Panamanians that qualify).

    Good luck,
    Matt

Having a unique or high-level skill does allow a foreigner to work and that is why I am able to. You still need to jump through a couple of hoops but it can be done. If you move here wanting to lay concrete block or farming you are out of luck.
