Hears the story. This guy purchased a few LG air conditioner units from a store on Tumba Muerto. He then uses an unauthorized technician to install the units. Buy doing this he effectively invalidates any warranty. Go figure during installation the units get damaged and now he tries to return the units. Well guess what, the store says no. This is one of the most common mistakes I see expats making. There’s an old saying you get what you pay for. Always use qualified technicians for any projects. It reminds me of story about one person installing there water heater. This person tries to save a few bucks by having someone’s kid do it for twenty dollars. To make a long story short the water line bursts and leaks into the elevator shaft causing 10,000 in damage. Who do you think they go after to pay for the damages, condo owner or 18 year old kid?
MrPanCan - thanks for the tip on the VIP Sports. I will be in Panama from Nov. 7 ~ 13 with an open itinerary. I plan on visiting islands both on the Pacific and Carribean side. Anything else in Panama City that is a must see/experience to help get the feel of living there? I am spending some serious time looking into lawyers, banks, taxes, health care etc. but I look to time with other expats to really get the info. as you shared in the above tread. Also, you can email me direct at LeoARiley@aol.com if that makes communication easier.
