    Big crime spree in las tablas!!!

    Ok, so maybe I am being dramatic. Yesterday a friend of mine that lives in David stopped by and we wound up going to my favorite taco restaurant. While eating outside and while I was bragging about how safe this town is wouldn't you know an incident occurred. Come to find out a Colombiana had walked into the phone store across the street and stole a Blackberry. I believe it was the female store owner and another female employee grabbed her and stopped the Colombiana right next to our table on the sidewalk. The owner looked like she was going to "clean the clock" of the Colombiana as she tried to pull away. At this point half the town is watching this all go down, lol. Police showed up, the checked the Colombiana's id, checked the store video camera, and put her into the back of the police truck. More than likely she will wind up on the next plane bound for "The Motherland".

    ^Almost like the climax scene in Scarface... only different.

    Cant wait to go to a place where a shoplifted crackberry is a huge crime. ;>}

    The BB is nearly a monthly paycheck for a lot of people in Panama. In relative terms, that is a lot of money. Interesting to hear how those things are handled. The same happens here every day, it just is handled discrete and customers don't become aware of it. I am just glad MrWooHoo and friend didn't take any harm. I'd trade a shoplifter any time of the day for the crack cookers in my neighborhood.

    No crack cookers in my current 'hood'... just incoming fire (most often rockets or mortars). Fun stuff.

    Guess we all have our crosses...

    I am fine with an occasional shoplifter. No crack houses or bullets flying overhead here.

    Coming to think of it, a blackberry in Panama is about 600 Balboa's, and I am not talking currency.
    Hell, who needs a blackberry. Any takers?
