I was just wondering what the availability is for pharmacies / prescriptions in the Pedasi area. My wife and I are planning on moving down soon but she needs to take Micardis Plus for blood pressure. Do you need a doctor for prescriptions or can you just buy over the counter? When we lived in Mexico, you could buy almost everything over the counter. Also, are there any homeopathic / naturopathic doctors in Panama?
Everything is over the counter except pain meds. The only problem is that the medication name might not be exactly what you were taking before, but usually the Pharmacist can find something that is comparable. There are homeopathic docs here, but I can't say how reputable they are.
hi i live in the pedasi area , there is a little drug store in the china grocery store in pedasi , and there is a ton of them in los tables and chitre , there is a homeopathic doctor just as you enter chitre from the los tables side right across the street from the banko national at the first set of lights after the bridge . now just a little something you should check out , i get a email from this health website everyday and you can go back and reasearch old stories , if your wife can get onto something natural and get off the pills she might just find herself doing better as all pills have bad side affects , the site is www.naturalnews.com and if you move into this area just look for the tall ,bald guy and say hi . best of luck
Thanks Becky & Naked. I thought the chino had a pharmacia but wasn't sure what you could get. I would love to get my wife onto a natural remedy...maybe the change in life style will help!
Naked guy - are you orginally from Alberta? I'm in Calgary right now and am hoping to be out of here soon! Are you building your house using sea cans??
I actually just purchased Chantix (Spanish: Champix) from Paso Canoas pharmacy without a script. In Panama and USA you need a doctor script. Costa Rica is much more liberal when it comes to handing out meds.
