Futbol Sunday in Las Tablas - 60 CENT BEERS ALWAYS

So here is a little glimpse of Futbol Sundays here in the interior. This is my local watering hole where the beers are cheap and the people are fun.

Is this the bar where we sat outside and have a few beers? If so, I liked it. How is the bar doing that those gringos were starting in January? Looking forward to having another beer in Las Tablas (as soon as I can get my house sold in Wisconsin).

I have to say the people is what sold me on the Azuero. These are probably some of the happiest and friendly folks I have ever met. As you can tell I "stick out" a little bit but everywhere I go the locals are always stopping to say hello and introduce themselves. People come up to me and start striking up conversations in the grocery stores. At Oceanos the locals will start buying you beers to the point you have to insist "please God no more". When was the last time you were in a place that the locals start buying you drinks until you almost fall out of your seat? When beers are 60 cents everybody is buying rounds.

exactly! very familiar your story of them buying you tons of beers... I've lived a while in penonome, but when i got to the festival of Guarare and carnivals in Las Tablas you see how festive they are in the azuero! Are you going to festival la mejorana in september?

Pretty soon is Santa Librada, another week long party in Las Tablas. I will of course be at la mejorana. Las Tablas is party CAPITAL of Panama.

great video Martin looks like a lot of fun that could cause some liver damage at .60 a beer.

Booze is almost to cheap. When buying a round for the table only costs 3-4 dollars you notice people very often pass right out in their seats, sleep for a few, wake up, and start drinking again.
