Thread: surfing near panama city

does anyone know the closest surf-spot from Panama City? Is it realistic to surf on a daily basis when living in Panama City?

Gorgona Beach is likely the closest. About 40 minutes once you cross the bridge going west on the Panamerican from Panama City. Usually a good sized crowd of surfers.

Also just past San Carlos--so you are about 1 hour past the Bridge of Americas. After you see the Texaco and Cholo's Mexican restaurant on the left, take the next left. There is a sign for Palmar. There is also a surfing school there. You will probably see Owen from Cholo's out there surfing in the afternoon. Owen usually has surfing on the TV, Cholo's is closed Monday and Tuesdays.

You will have to make a trip out to Playa Venao and check the surf scene there as well.
