Thread: Meeting Expats

Welcome met1, I see you are planning on coming here on New Years Day. One thing to consider is things are VERY slow here during the Christmas and New Years holidays. The plus is you don't fight traffic in the city, the minus is not many people are doing much at all. Might be difficult to find people to ask questions, meet with, do things, etc. You can still get around but you will be missing some of the experience. At least in my opinion.

What's the best way to meet up with American expats?

Online in my opinion is the best. I have met many people on this forum in person. There are other places as well. Although I spend my time here Yahoo groups are very popular. Just do a search for "yahoo groups panama" and you will find them. If you are looking to make a real move I would probably recommend subscribing and participating in them. Do know opinions sometimes run high online and this is a small country. The best way to find out what's up and what your in for is from the existing expat community by far.
