So here I am watching some TV on the internet while my future wife Daira is cooking (burning the house down) when suddenly BANG!!!! What in the heck is that? Come to find out the kids playing baseball in the empty lot next door had knocked one onto the roof of the house. I see them running around the house and they ask permission to look in the yard. We of course allow them to look and they cannot find. Before you know it a child has actually climbed the fence next to the house and onto the roof and is retrieving the ball. Being from the US the first thing you think is safety and insurance liability but then you realize
A. It's not my house
B. Try to sue me in Panama
I mention to the kids I don't think its safe for them being on an aluminum roof and maybe Daira should say something to them (she is a local). Daira tells me to basically mind my own business and let the kids get it. The kids are able to finally retrieve the ball, thank me, and continue on with their game.

Reason: My Post
Yeah, that is what I thought, lol. It's only the roof of my house, why should I care a 12 year old is walking across it? The neighborhood we are living in has so far proven to be safe and for me (the big bad gringo) to get angry and tell the kid to come down would have been a bad reflection on me. Choose the neighborhood you live in very carefully. If it is a bad area or if you are to isolated you probably would have more to worry about. By smiling and not making any fuss the locals will not hate me and I have a better chance of them looking after my house instead of looking to rob it.
Might have even been better had you gotten your gringo self on the roof to help them....hahaha.
What I find amusing is not the fact that they were on the roof, but your lady looking out for you by basically telling you to "mind your own business"!
So she was burning the house down huh? Can she cook?
