    Dentist recommendation in Panaman City

I am arriving in Panama on March 25 on an exploratory mission (retirement). I am wondering if it makes sense to try to visit a dentist for check up and possible minor repair work. My thinking is that it may be much less expensive than here in the frozen tundra of Maine. Thoughts and recommendation are greately appreciated.

I use Arango-Orillac. They are a full service dental clinic in Panama City. Fully modernized, very well trained, and professional. The offices are spotlessly clean.

They do charge more than some other dentists here in Panama. However, they are one of the top 5 clinics in the country (my own guess).

I've had two teeth replaced, several cleanings and fillings, and tooth whitening, and I'm 100% satisfied.

Mine is Dr. Charles (Charly) García. Really nice guy, and an excellent (and painless) dentist. His office's prices are very competitive within Panama, I believe.

Charly's a dual-citizen American born in the Canal Zone; he speaks perfect English and Spanish. Office phone is +507 264-4380, email is garciadentist@hotmail.com.

Dental prices in Panama are less than the US, for sure -- about one-third less, in my casual check. But if you need a LOT of work done, try Mexico -- prices there are about one-half of the US (and quality is just as good, as long as you get refs).

    Dentist recommendations?

    Hi all,

Need to get a routine dental cleaning and check-up- Any recommendations for a dentist who does a good job and isn't too expensive?

    Thanks!

out of interest, how much did the teeth replacements cost and how long did it take? Being born in the late 60s and being from the British Isles my teeth are not fairing so well now, and with all the bloody white toothed gringos (a migratory beast to be found in Panama) i feel I could do with a better smile before I really grow too old to care.
