Thread: Knock off stores??

anyone know good knock off stores in panama.. like u can get cheap designer stuff, cheap bags, shoes.. for my sisters..

You could go to Colon. There you can buy anything at the duty free zone. I buy a lot of knock off items at the panama and costa rican border.

Do NOT go to Colón; that advice is both absurd and dangerous. There are plenty of knock-offs (counterfeits) in Panama City, on the street and in the malls.

Like I said you could go. As long as you stay out of the city and only in the duty free enclosed section, there is not that much danger. I would never walk around colon either. But, the duty free zone is a very interesting section. And you can buy almost anything you want or need there. Colon is changing. They do have a home port cruise ship leaving weekly.

It's a dangerous, gang-dominated, crime-ridden neighborhood where 40% of the people are unemployed and if you're a gringo walking by yourself -- you are a TARGET.

I've been to Colon a couple of times -- however ONLY with people that live there and even they are extremely cautious.

Go ahead and google Panama crime statistics and read for yourself.
