Make Plans for Panamanian Independence Day Celebrations
By DON WINNER for Panama-Guide.com - This year the Panamanian Independence Day, 3 November, falls on a Monday. That means most Panamanians will be heading off to the interior of the country or (for that matter) leaving Panama starting on about Friday, 31 October. Panama won its independence from Colombia on 3 November 1903 and the whole country shuts down to celebrate. Don't expect anyone to be back at work until about Wednesday, 5 October. If you want to go anywhere you might find that it's already too late to make reservations and that everything is already booked up. But there's always a chance so it you're inclined you might want to pick up the phone now.
