Native Music

Hi again,

I would like to buy some panamanian music. Any music style would do as I'm currently studying different cultures. What are the best known panamanian music artists?

Here are two of Panama's popular music artists:
Los Rabanes - a punk ska trio including Emilio Regueira, Christian Torres, Javier Saavedra.
El General - considered as the father of reggaeton.

Music genre in Panama is considerally diverse. From salsa, merengue, reggae, vallenato to folkloric popular music.

Is Panama working its way to make it to the international music scene? I guess Panama would be better known in terms of good music if they would be able to be known internationally.

I agree with you Cessy. It would be great if they let the world know about Panamian people talents. I wonder if the songs are expressed only in a spanish language or translated in other language.

Do you live in Panama? A trip down to the music store will introduce you to more local artists than you can handle.
