Panama America - For a short time a group of bus drivers and owners closed Transístmica near the Los Andes commercial center in protest over rising fuel costs and the implementation of the new Transmóvil transportation system. When they closed the street riot control police came to clear the area, while the protesters took refuge in the parking area of a shopping center. Right now the bus drivers and owners are meeting to decide what actions they will take next. The protest has caused an extraordinary traffic jam for those trying to get into Panama City and the province of Colón.

Por corto tiempo un grupo de transportistas mantuvieron cerrada la vía Transístmica a la altura del Centro Comercial Los Andes, como medida de protesta ante el alto costo del combustible y la implementación del sistema de transporte Transmóvil.
Ante el cierre las unidades del Control de Multitudes de la Policía Nacional procedieron a despejar el área, mientras que los manifestantes se refugiaron en los estacionamientos del centro comercial.
En estos momentos los transportistas se encuentran reunidos para determinar las acciones a tomar.
La protesta ha ocasionado un descomunal tranque hacia el centro de la ciudad y la provincia de Colón.
