Golf and The Ocean, please

I'm searching for the perfect place (arn't we all) and after some investigation Panama might be it. If there was a prefect place for us it would have an ocean view, small town atmosphere, close to a golf course and less than an hour drive from Panama City. Any suggestions ?? We'd like to take a tour down to have a look this fall and see what we can find but would like to rely on some experienced advice. Thanks for any help.

You will really need to come down and take a look. Start contacting real estate agents, more than one, and you will find what you need.

Given your list of requirements, the only current choices are Coronado and Vista Mar.

yes, Coronado and Vista Mar are the only options that would meet the criteria, except that it doesn't meet the criteria for "perfect place"

Um, excuse me Mr. Moderator, but why are you laughing at a post that a) makes snide fun of the OP's legitimate question, and b) really doesn't make sense?

You and MarcoPolo may not like Coronado, Vista Mar, and other similar communities, but that does not mean they are not perfect for some people. I wouldn't choose to live there, and I don't care a whit about golf, but many do -- and hundreds of ex-pats (and others) are very happy in those places and do indeed consider them "perfect."

If you go just a bit farther west from Coronado, there are some nice places in San Carlos and just beyond that Playa Blanca. And there's a beautiful golf course as part of the Royal Decamron complex on the Pacific in the Playa Blanca area. Once you're moving on the Panamerican highway (4 lane divided, limited access close to freeway quality) it only takes another 10-15 minutes beyond Coronado. Something to consider....
