    Compact fluorecent light bulbs

Here in the States we are being urged to replace our regular light bulbs with "compact fluorecent bulbs." Big energy saver and they last a lot longer.
About 5 years. And they generate 70% less heat.
Is this same thing being done in Panama? Just wondering.

Why doesn't everyone use CFL bulbs? Are there any drawbacks?

    compact fluercent bulbs

The only draw back as we see it now is how to dispose of them.
They do contain a small amount of murcury. Don't want that to get in the land fills.
