I try to read a little every day before I go to bed. I do that regardless of whether or not I am in Panama.

My reading habits don't change in regard to where I am on the planet; if I'm breathing, I'm able to read. I tend to seek out used book stores that serve the expat market to look for old paperbacks that are out out-of-print in the states. I've been able to find some real gems in my quest for something to read.

    Cheers.

You can read while you stay there. I read about one book a week. Also, I know an English bookstore in Panama City so it's easy to find something new to read..... some Hotels (like the Country Inn in Amador, Panama City) also have some books you can read while you stay there.

Are there many book stores in Panama that have English books? Is it hard to find English books?

Good places to look are the backpacker hostels and other cheapie places; they usually have a few bookshelves, and are more than happy to trade your books for something different. Its also a good place to look up the bulletin boards for Spanish teachers, happy hour specials, and other inexpensive ways to occupy your time. Also a good place to find ppl to go out on a boat with; the more the merrier, and the cheaper as well!

    Cheers.

When I go to Panama, I only have a week, so I don't have much time to read other than the morning paper with breakfast. I (we) spend most of my (our) waking hours soaking-up the atmosphere...
