Do you have any pets?
Do you have any pets? Are pets common in Panama?
I'd have pets, but I'm allergic to cats and dogs.

I'm allergic too, but more to cats than dogs. I don't have any pets because I travel a lot, and it would be a hassle to have to worry about my pets every time I travel somewhere.

Nopes, I don't have pets. Because I am always out in different tours(my job). Even if i keep one, i think it will run away on the first day. But, i love cats.

I have a pet, which you have allergic to it . My cat has been around with me for quite some time now. When I'm away or something I can entrust it a while to my family or maybe friends and such.

I have a 4 year old red Dobermann bitch, and a 2 year old Vizsla dog; both are short-haired, well-trained and great pets.
I'm quite allergic to dogs, and the Vizsla is totally hypoallergenic (no undercoat, no shedding) and the Dobie is so short-haired that a bath twice a month takes care of any dander problems.
I was raised with cats and still love them, but I don't have the room for any more animals!

Cheers.

pets in panama
I know that in Mexico animals are treated rather poorly and your own pets aren't always that secure. I've heard of people throwing poison-treated meat in the streets and pets dying when eating it.
We have a retired greyhound and a Bichon Shitsu (sp?). If we come to Panama for retirement in approx 2 years it would be nice if we could bring the dogs. However I've heard this is not easily done and that the pets must be quarantined (or home quarantined) for something like 40 days.
Has anyone brought their pets down, particularly from Canada? If so, were the airlines fairly obliging?
Thanks

A lot of Gringos bring their pets into Panama . I actually took a Panama Puppy back to the States . They have to be up to date on all there shots and I believe I needed a Vet check within 15 days of when I left the country . I assume its about the same bringing one in . The Airlines were great . It cost $50 to ship her to Calif from Panama . If its cold in Canada when you fly the airlines will not fly the dogs down .They would freeze . Our friend is in Canada and just found this out a few days ago . Check with your air carrier in Canada about flying the dogs and I would get hold of Panama Immigation on the dog requirements to enter the country . Good Luck . Let us know what they say .

Yes I have pet. I have one dog. I use to go walk with my pet near beach every morning and evening. I use to enjoy this very much. You can enjoy the sun set and sun rise. Its like golden chips are thrown into the sea.

I have a long haired Chihuahua, really cute little guy. I want to bring him with me this time though, because I plan on staying around for quite a while, but I am worried about everything that I have to get done and that I will not have enough time.
