Thread: Meeting in Panama

As far as meeting x pats go there is a little café on Via Argentina called Angels. Its located right under the Sub Way. Angel is a Canadian who has lived in Panama for 20 + years lots of American and Canadians meet there. Great place to find out the latest news. The beer is always cold and she makes the best Shepard’s Pie I have ever tasted. Hope to get back there in October.

Sorry to say that as of a couple of weeks ago or so (since June 20 anyway) Angel's 'Dolce' restaurant is closed down. I went by last week and the place is undergoing some serious renovations. Angel had spoken about selling, but nothing serious since i last saw her. Not sure where Angel has gone, who or what the new place will be.

Anyone have more information? I'll stop by today and ask, perhaps someone at the construction site knows the deal.

Wow last time I was there she mentioned she was thinking of selling but I didn’t think she was serious. I wish her well and maybe the new place will be just as good.

Mr. WH - I have emailed you recently and finally firmed up plans to visit Panama. I will be in the City from the Nov. 7th ~ 13th and would like to meet up with the local ex-pats and get the local flavor. I have an open itinerary and willing to travel to other regions such as Bocas etc. Any chance you will be in the City or can you give me some tips on hotels and restaurants or ? Looking for the local experience not the tourist places.

Would really like to know the restuarants where the fellow ex pats would hang out drinking cheap beers and discussing female cultural exchanges in a non life threatening environment.

Any suggestiosn ?

Check out the Superbook VIP Sports Club across the street from the Royal Casino in Marbella. Great wings cheap beer and theirs always some expats there particularly when theirs a game on. As far as “discussing female cultural exchanges” just take a walk up the street to Habano's Cigar Bar and Café. I’m sure you find some interesting conversation there.
