Thread: What do you think about pos-inc.com?

I am looking for a good law firm in Panama to set up a Foundation and Corporation for me. I've done a lot of research (google, asking around, etc.), and stumbled onto these forums, where I read quite a bit of useful information about another firm I was considering to use (panamalegal), and found they are scammers.

So... now I'm hoping there are some folks here who have heard of this "Panama Offshore Legal Services" firm, and could provide a review or opinion.

I have corresponded with them quite a bit by email, and they seem to be very open and honest about their services, what they do, what they recommend, their costs, etc... which is encouraging. However, according to that big thread about panamalegal, it's impossible for "good interaction" to be enough to know if they are scammers or not.. since a scammer will tell me everything I want to know right up until they get my money.

So... anyone have any experience with this company? Are they good? Bad? Average?

Or, if you have another recommendation for a legal firm please let me know.

Basically, I need to open a new Foundation, company, and also a merchant account (low risk, nothing bad).

(Please do not recommend any company unless you have personally used their service or know someone who has. I already have a giant list of "panama legal service providers".)

I was just in Panama a month ago and dealt with POS. I had been dealing with them for a few months by Skype/ email before that.
I have not had any reason to complain so far. Service was great and I got everything done I needed to get done. I'm still in the final stages of finishing up, but that is due to my work schedule and not to the guys at POS.

I live a few blocks from them. Seem to be very professional, although a bit too pricy for me.

Make everything clear to them up front - for example that a bank account in Panama is an absolute necessity.

Just an update. All is good for me. I have been able to do all I needed and wanted, plus there are more and more options to choose.
But with anything... DYOR!

Sounds like good recommendations. As an alternative, I have used Idania Vargas of Vargas, Garcia Y Asociados and found her charges very reasonable for the work you are describing. She will assist in these areas. She practices with her husband, Luis Garcia, an officer in the National Police. She can be reached at: vargasygarcia@gmail.com I don't know that she's a superstar, but I wanted to develop a legal contact that would be available anytime I needed help of any sort in Panama and I think I have that with Idania.

For what it's worth - I know the parents of Jon Hanna who works there as an attorney - I may use their services to setup a foundation as well.

Any ideas how much a corp, foundation and bank account might cost through them?
