I can't roll my r's either... is there a trick to do it? I've been trying for years but to no avail.

I wonder if anyone can find an online tutorial about how to roll r's. There must be a way to learn how to do it.

I can do it, but it's because my main language is Portuguese, and there are similarities, can you tell what words are you having trouble on? I can try to help!

Yes--and I thank 'Sesame Street' for it all the time! My mother can't do it, she also cannot make the aspirate H (back palate throat-clearing noise) sounds for a Scottish accent, and Hebrew (which is fine, since she isn't Jewish.)

Most ppl who don't learn it as children have a lot of trouble picking it up as adults, so I wish you luck!

    Cheers.

I found an article on improving your Spanish pronunciation that includes a section on how to roll your 'r'. I think this is the biggest challenge for anglos.

    Here is the article:

    Lose That Gringo Accent!
