Thread: Bambu hostel in David Panama

A friend and i just opened www.bambuhostel.com in David, we have both backpacked around for years and always dreamed of operating our own hostel. We are really interested in getting suggestions from folks as to what you like or dislike in hostels, we have decided to make ours a luxury hostel with an inground pool and mayan style rancho bar, we encourage jamming as such we have a collection of instruments...bunks are $10 USD a night and privates start at $22.

David is an often overlooked city but we love it, if you have any questions about things to do there contact me.

I like the website and David is a convenient place when traveling. Next time I renew my tourist visa I plan to do the bus trip to San Jose. I do not want to do it in one day so I plan to stop by. Best of luck with the hostel.

Great looking site and hostel...i genuinely hope i get to stay there when i do eventually get to visit Panama.

I have been staying at Bambu 2 weeks already, booked another 2. I got in at 130am on a monday morn after being trapped behind the Ngobe protests for 42hrs and was let in...by the Ngobe night watchman , it was great.
It's a fantastic hostel, I'm renting a private room w/AC and ensuite while fixing up a casa out here. Pool and BBQ is nice. The people running and working it are hard working and laid back at the same time...best option in the area for sure. Plus if you need something, bus ticket, taxi, rental care, places to go, alternate lodging if they're booked etc... they'll get it done. btw , dont use google map location next to purple house(about 20% as good, no long term rentals, no pool) . It's in the bottom left corner of david just off the highway, real easy once you know it. Hostelworld.com has the correct loc.

Bambu is a great place to stay in David. Very nice social area and in-ground pool. Beds start at $8/nite and they even have nice private rooms.
