i hear no female guests allowed and no parties. i can respect that. you get a 25% discount if you pay for your room in cash.

No guests period? Even my girl friend?

How will they know she is not my sister or wife?

Good God, I won't go there if that is the case, that is for sure.

    Thank for the reply..........

some of my friends were thinking of coming down with me but staying in different hotels and i was told by Milan management that they weren't allowed in my room. so they opted instead to go to Costa Rica where there are no restrictions on guests in any hotels.
what CR does is charge you extra (up to 20 bucks) for guests in your rooms.

I have stayed at Milan twice and enjoyed both, but they are not a party hotel, whether a group or party of two. Doesn't sound like what you are looking for.

Thank god there are plenty of hotels were you can bring your "girlfriend/boyfriend" over without any troubles. Usually the larger hotels, like Hotel Continental, Hotel Panama and others are ok. The smaller hotels watch your every move.

The Veneto is definitely very "forgiving" shall we say. Being that there is a casino between the front desk and elevators up to rooms they really do not have a choice in the matter . My understanding is, they are fine with guests. You just need a hotel key to go above floor 7.

Yeah, no guests at all is kind of a problem. For all the single guys, it isn't the best idea to go home with a girl the first time you meet her. You might end robbed or something, so bringing them back to your place is the best. I am married, so the Hotel Milan is a decent place, but I might stay elsewhere next time.

Now you guys are scaring me. I'm going there next week with my girlfriend... We haven't seen each other since june this year...

She made the reservation for both of us... They haven't asked if we are married or anything else. I guess we will be fine... Correct me if I'm wrong.

edog, i had a chica steal from me in the Dominican Republic so i'm leary of bringing chicas back to my room. but if i meet a sincere one (LOL) that i may want to spend some time with i would want her to come to my room for a little R&R.
Mr W, so what if i meet a girl at Habanos ? where do i take her ?

since you made a reservation for two, there shouldn't be a problem. she will be a registered guest.

Yeah, a little theft is better than not returning home! You never know who might come a knocking at her house...

I just came back from my trip... The hotel was very nice for the price. The room was clean, and the staff helpful about giving us directions and stuff. I had no problem being there with my girlfriend since we made the reservation for both. We have not tried the restaurant except for breakfast. The breakfast was good, and the prices were very decent.

Thumbs down Hotel milan- Be warned- homophobia-paranoia

Guys and gals, be warned !

I was seriously considering this hotel in my extensive research on mid-range hotels. We are 4 adults (friends- 3 guys and one gal) After reading tripadvisor comments (read the negatives) I send the hotel a e-mail asking for clarifications on their position of not having 2 men in same room. Well, they are clearly saying the hotel is for couples (man and woman only) meaning we would need 3 rooms...whih I find discriminatory as we travel together and shared rooms to save costs. Here is the e-mail thread so you can see by yourself...

    Good night:

As be mentioned in our previous E-mail “All the rooms at HOTEL MILAN are for one person or one couple and we don't have additional beds, roll-away beds and/or mattresses to put in the rooms to accommodate three (3) people or more in them”. Based on this information furnished from the beginning, you will require three (3) Single rooms.

If our offer is accepted, please advise the following information: how many rooms you will require, the complete name of the persons per room and the check-in time on the 01.

Hola and thanks for your reply.

after reading reviews of the hotel milan on tripadvisor http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g294480-d631223-Reviews-Hotel_Milan-Panama_City.html

I have question. We are 4 adults friends visiting panama, 3 men and one woman, so we need 2 rooms (2 men in one room, and one man and woman in other room)

Is this acceptable or does your hotel have a policy about who sleeps in one room ?

    thanks

that's sad. because i was going to bring one of my buddies down and we were going to share a room there also to save money.
i wonder if this is a money issue or a working girl issue with this hotel ?

    Thumbs up Panama Hotels

Wow what a discussion about Hotel Milan.
Being organizer of tourist trips in Panama let me explain something to you guyswhowanttobringgirlsandboystotheirhotelrooms. Hotel Milan does not suffer from homophobia, they only have double beds in the rooms. That's why they say we don't have single beds etc. They probably did not really understand it all.
You should know that Hotel Milan is right next to Hotel El Parador where prostitutes are allowed in the rooms. And they probably don't want that in their hotel. Otherwise it is a good hotel, where indeed you get a discount, but they are fully booked most of the time.

They also don't want visitors in the hotelrooms because they are probably afraid that they're going to sleep without paying. If you ran a hotel, you would not like 4 people to stay in one room, while only one or two pay?
By the way most of the small hotels have the same policy.
If you come with friends to Panama City, just ask yourself what your priorities are.
You want a nice and quiet place where there are not too many people, take a bed and breakfast. You want a hotel with a disco nearby and where you can bring girls up take the El Parador or Las Vegas apartments.
By the way I put the address of a new b&b on this web site. Check it out. It is really cool overthere and they help you with all kinds of info to get around.

    check tripadvisor reviews

    Thanks Ange

have a look at the negative comments on tripadvisor hotel reviews about their policy...

    http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...nama_City.html

I am sure the hotel is a very good budget option, but their response to my e-mail is pretty clear. for 4 adults, we need 3 rooms because we are 3 guys and one girl.... we don't want to rent 3 rooms...
