Amex Black Centurion Card

Guys,

I'm fully aware that this topic doesn't have anything have to do with Panama.
Although, I'm here registered and I've read a lot of questions/answers I'd like to put this question into the forum and might get a perfect answer which matches my requirements.

I was looking for months already to get an invitation/any other idea to get the Amex Black Centurion Credit Card but all my in some kind hard work, didn't work.

So, my question to you guys is, does anybody has a valuable idea to get this credit card? I'm not looking for the answer, that I'd need to be famous or need to spend an incredible amount of cash $$ to get this card.

Is there any other way or does anyone has a good idea for me, please?

I'm already searching in all those threads in other forums/chatboards where other guys are looking for this card as well, but without any success till now.

Thanks for your time and suggestions,

cheers,
Stefan

Amex Black Centurion Card

The Ultimate Bling - Black Amex Centurion

written by John Chow

Forget your Platinum Visa or American Express card. You’re looking at the ultimate credit card; the Centurion card from American Express, also known as the Black Card. This card is so exclusive you cannot apply for it. It’s not listed anywhere on the Amex website. So how do you get it? You have to be invited.
To get an invite, you must be a current American Express cardholder in good standing, and you must charge a minimum of $250,000 a year. The annual fee for the Centurion started at $1,000 but has since increased to $2,500. There are less than 10,000 Centurion cards issued worldwide. What do you get for paying $2,500 a year to use a charge card?
To start, you get one bling bling looking card. The Centurion is made of pure titanium, is surprising heavy, and sets off airport metal detectors. Imagine the fun you can have with that. Ops! Forgot to remove my titanium credit card! Because the card is made of metal, the magnetic strip won’t work with most card scanners. This forces the casher to enter your card number manually, where she is sure the see the 24 hour 1-800 customer service number Amex makes available to Centurion cardholders. Being noticed is what the Centurion card is all about.

The 1-800 number dials up your personal Concierge. The Concierge can help you with airline reservations, getting tickets to sold out shows, or whatever else you need. One time, while in LA, We used the card to find out what time Disneyland and Universal Studios closed. The Concierge went online to get the hours for us.
Aside from the personal Concierge, the Black Amex offers a bunch of rewards and access to exclusive clubs and airport lounges. On certain international flights, you can use the card to book a free companion ticket if you’re flying first class (is there any other class?). I like how they say “companion” ticket and not a ticket for the wife.
The Centurion started out as an urban legend. Rumors of a special, black-colored card offering dignitaries and celebrities unlimited spending power and after-hours access to high-end stores circulated in the 1980s. The rumors were false but American Express capitalized on them by launching the Centurion Card in 1999.
The Centurion Card pictured above belongs to my friend Tyler Dikman. Tyler was among the first batch of Amex users invited to apply for the Centurion Card and as such, his annual fee is grandfathered to only $1,000 a year. If Amex ever sends me an invite, I’ll have to pay $2,500 a year. I doubt I will be getting an invite anytime soon since I don’t have any Amex cards.

PS My cash back Visa suits me just fine!

Hi Bellepoque,

many thanks for your reply and information.

Through searching on many other webpages, I'm aware of the annual fee and the amount you'd need to spend to get it.

I was just looking if someone knows away around the amount you'd have to spend on it.

Cheers,

Stefan

From what I understand it's all about convience... like a driver, personal jet, and butler. To me though spending that much $ on a card when most of the things it offers you you can do by simply making a phone call yourself, makes me think that someone is trying to compensate for something or trying to get notcied when you pull it out of your pocket.

The truth is this though, most of the time I pull out any card, be it a platinum card or my debit card, no one looks... they just run it.

I think this card should have a slogan. "Amex Black Centurion Card... accepted everywhere you're trying to gain acceptance."

nice one....

well... what do I compensate, when my household lady comes to clean my apartment?

Not (even) my friends have seen her AND I'm surely not telling around, that I'm cleaning myself...

I'm having the AMEX pink since a short time... and to be honest.. it's not even accepted everywhere.... so, no compensations on this...

It's always like this... if you have something, someone else wants it to but can't get it, then it's called compensations or something like that...

Having a nice car and someone else wants it, but is driving a fiat or something like this is called panderer...

Other question... does someone, who calls the "nice car, AMEX centurion card holder" any problems with their confidentality?

I don't follow your post although I think you misread mine. I like nice things. I'l pay for them gladly, but all I meant was that the services it offers, to me at least, don't justify spending that kind of money just to have it. I want reservations for a plane back to the states, I call continental... I want dinner reservations, I call the resturaunt. If that saves me $2500 a year, I'd say it was worth it not for me to have one.

But if it's wallet bling you're after, that's definitley the card. Not many people can get em. It's the Bugatti of credit cards for sure.
