How much sleep do you have in a day?

How many hours do you usually sleep in a day? I usually sleep around 7-8 hours or so in total depends on my work and stuffs.

hiya,
7-8 hours per day/night/whenever it suits to you sleeping is fine.

I can't remember any day, where I have slept that long :-)

I'm working I'd say normal office hours from roughly 07:30 mornings to around 5:30ish, depends my Manager in Dublin needs me and then I'm heading home, getting my Cornflakes and then I'm working from home for my other Manager who's based in Perth, WA. This is quite funny, but I'm right with this Situation right now.. AND I consider a move to Panama within the next 6-8 month, which would be very interesting to handle this business Situation over there, but we'll see...

I say you seems to have a busy life as well working with two managers, but I believe it's worth your time as the reward would be great

I think getting enough sleep is good for health in long term but nowadays it's not easy to do so.

Hiya nuaeman,

you're right. It's not very healthy... and I'm consuming coffee a lot in the company, but unfortunately, it doesn't work anymore. I'm too used to have a coffee very close, that there is no more "flash" reaction.

Or for example today and last week. I'm officially on holdiays but I'm in the office. My Manager not even know, ok, maybe he'll see some responses from me in this time, but I'm not getting back to him saying, that I want those hours stated on my "time card". It's just for that my name is stated under my work done and if I get those 5 bucks or not for those hours, what the hell..

So, I hope you see ya all in Panama one time ;-) (I'm trying to move there in the next couple of month..)

Cheers mate,

Not nearly enough. After 8 hours of work a day, there are way too many interests and hobbies (this being one of them) to keep me awake. There simply aren't enough hours in the day (including days off) to get 8 hours sleep and pursue my leisurely activites too. In order to enjoy life, I have to settle for 5-6 hours of sleep daily. I freely admit that lack of enough sleep will probably shorten said life, but the trade-off (quality rather than duration) is something I can live with.

It varys greatly. It can be 8 hours one night and 2 or 3 the next. Like Panamax said, there is a lot going on and I have to balance it all out between my responsibilities and having fun. If I want to be out until 5 in the morning I still need to be at work at 9 so it's always a consideration.

I have a very restless sleep so normally if I don't get 8-10 hours of sleep per night I am very tired and cranky the next day. However, I have been known for skipping a night sleep here and there. I remember few years ago I went thru a very bad time in my life and got insomnia, I could not sleep at all until 5 or 6 in the morning and every few days I would skip one night entirely. It was NOT fun, I can tell you that. Thank God it passed.
I remember reading somewhere that the perfect amount of sleep for your body (it was an article about heart attack) is between 7 and 9 hours per night. If you sleep less or more then that your chance of getting a heart attack raise drastically.

I sleep minimum of 8 hours during the week and minimum of 10 hours on the weekend. I think 8 hours of sleeping is the best if you want to have good health and not to be tired during the next day.

I used to sleep 10 hours a day because sleeping is really good for your physical and mental health. Enjoy every day in Panama. It will make you as new man. Try it out guys.

Well it varies according to work expectations. Some days I get hardly 2-3 hours of sleep and will be quite exhausted by the next morning. In weekends although I get close to 8-9 hours of sleep. Work is killing me. Last 1-2 years have been especially tough.
