The reason why the forum is dead is obvious. Woohoo is gone. He was friendly. He was informative. He was positive. He did not mind sharing valuable information about Panama.

Now, with him gone, with a few exeptions (Janl, etc.,... please don't feel slighted of your are cool and I left you out, but I don't participate much any longer and internet names escape me easily) all that is left, it seems to me, is a bunch of old, grumpy (and probably fat) racist extremists.

Woohoo attracted people; neo conservative nut jobs tend to have the opposite effect. They only seem to attract one another....

maybe everyone that thinks past prolbems should be talked about should send a private message to the owner and tell her you want to know what happened , demand your rights , not take no for a answer , and then get back to the rest of us and tell us how it went .

You are right as to MrWooHoo. Rest of your comments demonstrate you're an ignorant racist yourself. You promised to leave, yet you keep coming back spewing your anger and hatred.

Perhaps my comment was a bit over the top... but I agree with the spirit of it.
A better way might to have been to indicate that all that seems to be slung around here these days is mud.
I keep tuning in from time to time hoping that Woohoo has returned with some information of interest
regarding Panama. Really.

If you crave my absence, rest assured you will have your wish eventually... it seems the good guy is gone for good, unfortunately.

The point is, the biggest attraction the site HAD... apparently is not around any longer.

That is why it is dead. Just responding to the original post.

As desperate as medical institutions are at times for blood, I can't imagine turning away volunteer donations. Only in Panama. I would be turned away only once...

This happens in the States also. We used to be very frequent donors with the Red Cross. My wife has the universal donor blood type (O+ I think) but the Red Cross will not allow you to donate for 12 months after you have been out of the country to places like Panama

I think sometimes forum members get too wrapped up in their own ideas and prejudices. Some give and take is good for the forum. I miss some of the older contributors and hope they return. I had a few beers with Mr Woohoo in Las Tablas and found him to be a pretty knowledgeable guy about Panama. He certainly has seen a lot of it (and nearly all by bus); probably more than anyone else on the forum. I hope to have more beers with him in the future.
I've seen too many instances where thread participants appear to take things too seriously and end up making personal attacks and fairly outrageous comments. Then, of course, there are those who delight and goading others and I have to admit that I often get a chuckle out of it (Ed is a master). Particularly when the goadees don't seem to realize what is happening.
There are some very experienced, knowledgeable people on this forum and it is a great place to learn things. I look forward to meeting some of you in person in the near future. Please don't take some of this stuff too seriously.
Remember "Stick and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me".
As I reread this post I realize it is way to serious but I'm going to post it anyway.
