The Tailor of Panama (book)

Have anyone read this book by John le Carre. It is a spy thriller with plenty of fascinating insights into the Panamanian society.

We've seen the movie but haven't come across the book yet in our local library so we'll probably be force to buy it. Amazon.com lists the book and the movies:

In the movie, Pierce Brosnan is the villan.

I have not seen the movie; as a general statement, John le Carre's books don't translate well into movies. Perhaps this statement is true for all books make into movies!

I have never heard of the movie but since Pierce Brosnan plays it must be worth viewing, at least for me

I have not read the book, but I saw the movie. Those alleged "fascinating insights" into Panamanian society is a work of pure fiction. The book/movie consists of very few facts about Panama, used primerily as a backdrop to the fertile mind of John LeCarré...
