    That's some valuable stuff!

It's a shame that this occurred, but I'm guessing that man must have been wealthy enough to attract the attention of the thieves. With that kind of money that man should have installed some sort of security system in his house, luckily they didn't assault him.

I'm guessing more wealthy folks over there will be taking extra security measures after such an incident.

Well, at least the thief was captured. That is better. I have visited a lot of places including Sri Lanka (Galle), South Africa (Cape Town) and Maldives. Compared to those places I feel Panama is safer.

Why risk your life for just $66k. It's useless. You can make those money in an year in Panama easily. However, this province Chiriqui is less safe than Panama in my opinion.

I agree with didonko, life is more important! With that much money value on hold, it's better to hire security guard

The police here do the great job capturing the thief.

Is Chiriqui Province unsafe for the tourists? There are quite a lot of tourist hotspots in Chiriqui and it'll be unfortunate if the province is not safe for the tourists to travel alone. Prevention will be better than cure!!
