Anybody can give me information regarding VGMC business that its' head office is in Panama?. This company offers very interesting interest for investor, and as we can guess a lot of people (in Indonesia) are interested to invest their money in this company. I would like to know: is this company having good reputations and really existing?

,Unless Richard Branson is behind it to me, the Virgin Gold Mining Corporation screams scam!

You will notice that the guy acting as president, secretary and treasurer is a Panamanian monkey who signs papers because someone pays him money. He has no clue what is going on and will run and hide if something happens.

I recommend you call Panama Offshore Legal Services who is the registered agent and ask them for a reference. Ask them to have the owner of the company call you - they issued the certificate most likely. Also make sure to question them, put them on notice that you will help take the lawfirm down if there is fraud going on. Check if the guy above is one of their employees.

It is not great cheating, they don't list one specific gold mine on their website that they are involved in. There are no corporate accounts just a lot of waffle. It looks like an on line scam where you purchase 'preferred shares' online and receive the monthly dividend in 'ounces of gold' in your online account. Of course , when you want your money back the difficulties will arise bigtime. As Contrail pointed out Senor Semudio will be of absolutely no help and I doubt that the address will turn out to be any more than an office address for a multitude of 'nominee' corporations.

There is also an Investor alert from the Malaysian Securities Commission.

It is a scam, ponzi, multi layer marketing all meaning one thing, fraud. No legitimate company pays 10% a month. Here is another website in the USA with exactly the same scam.

Here is their Panama headquarters before it was rented. 169 M2 is too small for 'one of the worlds leading gold exploration and mining companies ' 'with approximately 500 employees' it is about the size of a 2 to 3 bedroom appartment.

You should do some internet research and see how ponzi schemes operate and how many unsatisfied customers there are with the gold shares scam, they are mostly in Asia.

For EdBowers and other senior members: Your advices are really very useful for me to take a decision. I never did investment in gold, it will be the first time, but it seems scary and full with somethings unreal.

Nobody references them on the web apart from themselves and some get rich quick investment blogs, not one newspaper or mining industry journal. They concentrate on investors in Asia hoping that you won't figure this out. Buy ETF's or mining shares listed on the New York stock exchange instead. Can someone else post and back me up on this one?

It is high time the investors call/email Panama Offshore Legal Services in Bella Vista, Panama and ask them. If they cannot show a copy of an email to them at least they can continue investing their money for all I care.

I did post an email to Panama Offshore Legal Service a couple days ago, I asked them regarding this VGMC and I hope their references can make Indonesian investors realize that what they have done are not safe. Now I clearly understand after getting your advices but I want to try to minimize new victims in this business. I'm telling you, now such on-line business: gold mining investment, gold coin and other gold businesses, which are unclear, are growing in my country. That's why I need legal formal references to make them sure with what I'm saying.

i think that buying ETFs are also a great gamble . they are just paper shares that a oversold about 30-1 in gold and maybe as high as 100-1 in silver . just buy physical metal , because if you are not holding it , you dont own it .

The classic nominee set up then.

One aspect of 'nominees' that is probably not widely known is the UK Inland Revenue for example, can deem a nominee as an oxymoron. Once they establish a link to a taxpayer in the UK to an offshore corporation and demonstrate that the corporation is in fact being run from the UK they can nail you. I remember one case where somebody owned a house in the UK through an offshore nominee set up and had a company credit card. The Inland revenue took the view that the company was controlled by this person in the UK and he was the beneficial owner as that is where the instructions were originated from. Don't know how the IRS view these things though.

I have tried to call Panama Offshore Legal Service, but someone who picked up the phone spoke in language I could not understand and he didn't speak English.

They would obviously speak Spanish but for a company with an English name and and English website that targets foreigners for clients, it is extremely unlikely that there is no one available that can speak English. Much more likely is that they don't welcome awkward enquiries but would immediately have a fluent English speaker available if you indicated that wanted to be a client.

I am not in Panama at the moment but if anyone is passing the Global Bank tower and has time to check out office 3105 it would be fascinating to learn what actually goes on there.
