check and see if you can do business on whatever type of visa you are getting to come into the country , it would suck to get deported for stepping on someones toes .

If you don't know the answer don't feel pressured to jump in. Since when is it illegal for a representative of a foreign company to buy Panamanian products in any way?

just trying to help , with the stupid questions you ask , like how much is insurance for a family ? without any details , i was trying to help , but you can count on that stopping , and if you are a rep of a foreign company they must know a simple answer like that . LMAO at you . might be a good idea to visit the country at least once before you move here next month ,

    Again you are too smart.
I have been in Panama. Several times.
There are no stupid questions only stupid answers.
I can tell you in my country it is $380/month for a family of 3 full coverage health insurance. Obviously you got no clue how much it is in Panama. If you had a family and you had a health insurance you'd have a ballpark figure.
It is Saturday night, time to put the keyboard down and get a life.
I don't have one being married.

you just dont get it , i was trying to help . . on the insurace question , yes there is stupid questions , you asked how much for insurance on 3 people , no age , sex , health prolbems , covarage wanted etc , I post , how long is a string ? , just to show you that you need more info to answer that question , I also posted at the same time that I did not know , but others might be able to help you if there was more info . again trying to be nice and help .on this subject I inform you about possible prolbems do business here , because of a stupid asked question on where to buy coffee , maybe try buying it from a coffee farm . or maybe just buy it from super 99 and tear the bags open and pour them into the container , your choice . , we all could care less about how much you pay in Canada for your insurance , and sorry but I live a healthy lifestyle and dont need to be covered every which way from sunday . and every night is saturday night when you have lived here retired for 4 yrs like myself . as you see, some people really retire here , as in not having to work . so I do have a life . and am not answering to the Man . and please give your wife my condolence LOL

    Re: Buying coffee in bulk?

As you may or may not be aware, Boquete is considered to be the center of coffee growing in Panama, and it is surrounded by fincas growing coffee. I have been there many times and usually stay at Villa Marita ([Villa Marita Hotel Boquete: Panama) , which is owned by a wonderful gentleman named Rodrigo.

His degree in agricultural engineering from Texas A & M University hangs on the wall in the office at Villa Marita. His family was an early immigrant to the area and he operates several hydroponic veggie businesses at this site.

I would recommend you conyact or go by and discuss with him what you are considering doing in the coffeee trade.

Tell him "howdy" from Mel in Houston, for me.

The Villa Marita website says his phone 507-720-2165 and email is villamarita@cwpanama.net.

His daughter, Ana Elena, will probably answer the phone at the lodge. She is the Manager of the hotel and can put you in touch with him. They both speak excellent English.

Rodrigo Marciacq is a well known and respected member of the Boquete community.
