The treasurer for Credicorp Bank S.A. (top 10 biggest banks in Panama, https://www.credicorpbank.com/portal..._directiva.htm) gets this review by the US embassy:

Although Mr. Btesh had no bank accounts, credit cards or reported income, he was in legal possession of 3 luxury apartments, 5 commercial units, a ranch in Panama's interior, two Lexus SUV's and a jewelry store with an inventory estimated at $1.65 million USD. One of the apartments allegedly owned by Btesh and pictured prominently in the report is in a building where Embassy personnel currently reside. Btesh reportedly served 40 months during the mid-1990's in U.S. custody for drug offenses in Louisiana.

Interesting, but what hisses me off is that the U.S. spends so much time and money worrrying about this guy and thousands others.

Maybe he was not able to open a bank account, you know how things are in Panama, all that paperwork...

News Flash to the U.S.: His real estate, cars and bank accounts are in the names of corporations--for privacy from YOU and personal protection.

Yes, but as the US are saying that they know that he had legal possession of the real estate and the cars etc. it is not really very private, even less so now..
