It is here you will find 20 acres of some of the most dramatic landscape in Panama - a place where the hills meet a calm ocean and open up to an amazing view. It is here you will find Balä Beach Resort. Benefiting from a great relationship with the best local builders in Colon, Balä Beach Resort is not only one of the most unique projects in Panama, but also one of the most affordable. At Balä Beach Resort you won't spend a fortune to own your piece of Panama's paradise. Less than an hour drive to Panama City via the newly improved Panama - Colon highway, Balä Beach Resort is refreshingly accessible and perfectly Caribbean. Unspoiled, peaceful, calm and serene. Balä Beach Resort is one of Panama's best kept secrets. (more)

Wonderful Caribbean Beach Setting: Located on the Caribbean coast in the province of Colon, the Balä Beach Resort is just minutes away from some of the most interesting landmarks that you could find in all of Panama. Some of these attractions include the historic port town of Portobelo, the popular tropical getaway of Isla Grande, and the second largest free trade zone in the world, the Colon Free Trade Zone.

Nearby Towns and Attractions: Heading east along the Caribbean coast and only 20 minutes from the location of the Balä Beach Resort, Portobelo is described as a sometimes sleepy but always beautiful historic port town with gorgeous churches and nearby white sand beaches at Playa Langosta. Portobelo is home to Panama's annual Black Christ celebration held each year on October 21 in the ancient Portobelo Cathedral. Very near to the town of Portobelo, you will find the sprawling Portobelo National Park comprised of 34,846 hectares filled with coral reef communities, coastal forests, historic sites that were once storehouses for the gold and silver of South America and the remnants of the pirates of the Caribbean that left traces of their existence throughout the park. Further east past Portobelo along the Caribbean coast, the scenery becomes even more beautiful as just 30 minutes from Portobelo (or 50 minutes from the Balä Beach Resort), you will encounter Isla Grande, a weekend destination for many divers, snorkelers and surfers. Here you can stay at one of the area hotels, take a stroll through town to check out the historic lighthouse and grab a bite to eat in town as you experience the beauty of the sunset over the Caribbean ocean.

The Beach at María Chiquita: The Balä Beach experience is so much more than just a condo. At the resort you will always be well attended to and surrounded by lots of fun ways to keep yourself occupied. You will quickly come to appreciate the wide array of athletic, health-related and recreation facilities located on site. Beyond the complimentary amenities provided, Balä Beach will also offer a variety of extra services and special excursion options.

Complimentary Facilities and Services: Residents of the Balä Beach Resort will enjoy all of the following facilities and services:
  • Beach Cabanas
  • Tennis Courts
  • Jacuzzi

Both a City and a Province: - Colónis a province of Panama, and the capital city of the province is the city of Colón. This province has traditionally been focused in commerce (through the Colón Free Trade Zone, Panama Canal and its banking activities), but also has natural resources that are being developed as tourist attraction, such as coral reefs and rain forests. The province is subdivided into five districts; Colón (district), Chagres, Donoso, Portobelo, and Santa Isabel. The Balä Beach Resort is located in the town of María Chiquita in the Portobelo district of the province of Colón, right on Panama's Caribbean coast.

Environmental Concern: All waste water produced by the daily operations of the resort will be managed by a cleaning and treatment system that is the best available in the world today. This state of the art waste water management system promises to prevent a single drop of pollutant from ever entering into our Caribbean Sea. The inconspicuous system makes no sound, leaves no odor and is hidden away out of site. The wastewater is essentially recycled within the resort, treated and cleaned to the point where it can be utilized by the new plants and existing vegetation that make up the landscaping of the resort. Looking at the architectural design of the compound, all structures are built with carefully chosen materials and positioned in such a way as to optimize the amount of natural light that enters the common spaces and living quarters. This intelligent design will allow us to use less energy, reduce cooling costs and ultimately generate less waste.

Social Concern: The Balä Beach Resort also plans to use its influence to give back to the surrounding community and improve living conditions for all its neighbors to the best of its ability. The resort will create quality new homes and services for its clients, but the actual operation of the resort will also serve to benefit the people of Maria Chiquita and the entire province of Colon. Funds provided by Balä Beach will be used to improve the school and medical center of Maria Chiquita and also pay for the addition of a fire station, garbage truck and ambulance to begin operation in the community. Money for fresh paint and ornamental plants will also be invested into the community, allowing residents to make improvements on their homes and brighten up their lives. Jobs created by the Balä Beach Resort will employ over 50% of the local employable workforce (and multiple small business loans will be provided to many individuals who have never before had access to credit.) Working with local officials to create new community programs and adding new jobs at solid wages will help improve lives in Maria Chiquita. The Balä Beach Resort is committed to being the best new neighbor that it can possibly be.
