I went to El Trapiche as I was staying in the area on my June 2008 trip.

I went a Saturday/Sunday for lunch. The place was very busy. Lots of locals because they have some good prices.

I read about Ropa Vieja being a typical Panamanian dish, so I tried it here. Shredded beef, tomato sauce over rice. It had a nice flavour.

Lunch including a small tip was $6.

In the menu, I read about a typical Panamanian platter -- a larger dish -- for $11. I wanted to try that another day but never made it back to El Trapiche.

Maybe next time I'm through?
